All About Mrs. Tepfenhart
My name is Megan Tepfenhart. This will be my 5th year teaching and I am so happy to be back to teach kindergarten at a school I love!
I graduated high school from Poway, California where I lived for 22 years. After marrying my husband we received orders from the Marine Corps to Kansas City, MO. We have lived here for a little over 7 years now and we love it! I received my bachelor's degree from Graceland University at Independence, MO. Last year I graduated from Graceland with a Masters Degree in Technology Integration.
I am married to Cory, a former Marine who currently works at a photo lab. We have two kids: Millie who is 2 months, and Evelyn (7). We have two fur baby Dachshunds and a cat with more personality than she knows what to do with!
Life Changing Experience
My Mission Trip to Kenya
In September of 2013, I was blessed with the amazing opportunity to visit the people of Kenya. The trip itself was to visit Manna Worldwide schools/feeding centers tucked away in villages throughout Mombasa. We also had the opportunity to go on a Safari and witness the beautiful wildlife that roams the Kenyan savannah. Although it was no more than a week, this experience changed my heart. A piece of me was left back in Africa, and I have no doubt that I will return there for future mission trips. The people are joyful and giving, even though they have next to nothing to give. The students are grateful for the opportunity to learn and value the gift of knowledge and know it can be a powerful tool for their futures. The language barrier between English and Swahili can be difficult at times, and yet very comical at others. I always had the impression that mission trips were meant to go and help others, but the truth is, this trip helped change my perspective on life for the better, and I am eternally grateful for the experience.
